First Snow

Today we had the first snow of the season... I can not believe that it is already that time of year!!  The snow has been falling all day and through the night with very crazy winds.  It seems like it went from the lovely Fall weather that we had been having to the dreary cold and miserableness of Winter overnight here.  I keep hoping that this really is not the start of Winter here in earnest, but I think that it most likely is indeed.  My garden is most likely done for too :(  I was hoping that the carrots, beets, and onions might have made something... I guess once the snow melts - if the snow melts in the next few days I will go and check.  I just hope that the ground isn't frozen solid!  If it is then there is no hope of me pulling anything up to check!

  1. Snow is soon to be in our forecast, too. Ugh. It seems way too early.

  3. It's sad on how fast the winter weather sneaks up on us. The leaves are all but gone here and we closed up the pond. Next comes the snow. And while I love those first few flurries, I dread the months of bitter cold that goes with it. Ugh.

  6. I don't even think we're going to have fall here. I think it's just going to go from summer to winter with nothing in between. Just a few days ago it was in the 80's and people were wearing shorts. Tonight there's a freeze warning and I have to bring my plants in. At least there's not snow.

BTW, I've given you the Versatile Blogger Award on my blog. Congrats!

  7. Big time groaning for you....I won't even say the word, that word that begins with S, hate that it starts with the same letter as my name. Fingers crossed it won't be a long ugly season this time round.
