PIZZA!!!

OMGosh!!! I am eating pizza!!!!!!

OK, so to most people that isn't a big deal. However because I am allergic to both wheat and dairy pizza has been on the banned food list... Until now that is. I broke down and bought one of Amy's Gluten Free, Non-Dairy Spinach Pizza with Rice Crust. It was on sale so I figured I could have a treat. Overall I think that it is pretty good. The crust could be a tiny bit crisper so I think I would bake it a little longer than suggested next time. It also needs more cheeze so I would add some Follow Your Heart Vegan Mozzarella Cheese (I didn't have any on hand). I think that it would be better if you had some marinara sauce to put on top after it came out of the oven too since it really just doesn't have enough toppings or punch of pizza flavor. Overall it is pretty good and since I didn't have to fuss with making a scratch gluten/wheat free crust it is probably worth the $10 price tag.

  1. How great! You can pizza (even with your dietary restrictions). Maybe you can come up with your own recipe and wont have to wait until it is on sale.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I received your lovely package. I have taken photos of the content and am hoping to get my contribution posted this week.

  2. I was just talking to a friend who just found out her husband is gluten intolerant. It's funny you posted this because she said that pizza is what he really misses most!

  4. I can't imagine having a permanent condition that makes it hard to eat certain foods. I've got 6 weeks of pregnancy left and want to eat EVERYTHING even though I know I shouldn't. And it's just gestational diabetes. I can't imagine having something like Celiacs (my coworker's husband has this) or something like you have. It's great that they make foods now that people with food issues can enjoy. :)

  5. Good for you!! I'm glad you finally found one you can tolerate. You really should make a post on things that you miss most, and see if you can find ones that are tolerable. Too many people have this condition and simply don't know how or where to look..

  8. ahhh food allergies stink. I have been so worried about Gabbi at the daycare this week. I think I am going to write them a letter because as I got there they were getting ready to serve snacks that included some french fries and a small hot dog on a bun. The bun I am positive has some milk in it. The hot dog probably did not...the french fries might have. I have really told them again and again about the milk but I do not think they GET that milk doesn't just mean the wet stuff. lol It's in so much food. I am glad you got some pizza but sorry you have to go through so much trouble to get it.
